PCMIS partners with Croydon Drop-In to introduce digital case management for Youth Mental Health Services

PCMIS is delighted to announce a new partnership with Croydon Drop-In (CDI), supporting the organisation’s transition to the PCMIS clinical case management system and digitally configured care pathways as part of its ongoing commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality services for children, young people and families.

Founded in 1978, Croydon Drop-In is a trusted Youth Information, Advice & Counselling Service that has been at the heart of the Croydon community for almost five decades. Supporting children, young people and families, CDI provides a wide range of mental health, wellbeing and early intervention services, including counselling, psychotherapy, Mental Health Support Teams in educational settings as well as a Mobile Outreach team.

As demand for children’s and young people’s mental health services continues to increase, CDI chose PCMIS following a competitive procurement process to provide a secure, configurable and scalable digital platform that supports both clinicians and operational teams. The  implementation encompassed three dedicated service pathways for Mental Health Support Teams (MHST), Schools and Community Based Counselling services and their TalkBus & Outreach service. The MHST pathway has also been configured to support reporting to the Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDS).

Working in partnership with Croydon Drop In to make a difference and positive impact is at the heart of transforming children’s mental health through digital innovation. By integrating PCMIS into service workflows, we bridge the gap between data driven insights and delivery of compassionate care, empowering clinicians, streamlining care pathways, and ensuring every young person gets the timely, effective support they deserve.

The transition to PCMIS will enable the organisation to streamline referral management, improve clinical record-keeping, empower individuals in their care, efficient management and escalation of safeguarding concerns, strengthen reporting and outcomes monitoring, and enhance the overall efficiency of service delivery. By implementing PCMIS, CDI will benefit from a single, secure, integrated system that supports the entire client journey, from referral and assessment through to treatment and outcome measurement, helping teams spend less time on administration and more time supporting the young people and families who rely on their services.

This partnership with PCMIS is about more than a new system: it has given us the chance to decide, deliberately, what matters most for us to record and evidence, about our impact and about what young people need from us. The Prudence Trust’s support through their Strength in Data funding has given us the time, space and resource to carefully consider what we need from our systems. For CDI, this is the start of a data maturity journey, moving us toward becoming an insight driven organisation, one that understands its impact and can point to where the gaps still are for young people in Croydon.”
