The PCMIS Workshop

The PCMIS workshop, held on 22nd April at The Guildhall in York, brought together NHS leaders, clinicians, and digital health partners to explore the future of digital mental health delivery.

The event opened with PCMIS CEO Byron George, followed by product and technology updates outlining the PCMIS development roadmap. These included upcoming releases (v6.5–v6.6), with a clear focus on enhancing system functionality, improving service efficiency, and strengthening patient outcomes.

A key highlight of the workshop was the attendance of Rachel Heggart (NHS England), who led a strategic roundtable discussion, “From Now to Next- A 10 year vision for Digital Talking Therapies.” She was joined by a multi-disciplinary panel including Professor Jamie Delgadillo (King’s College London), Dr Julian Nesbitt (Dr Julian), Dr Graham Thew (University of Oxford), and senior leaders from SilverCloud and Limbic – PCMIS integration partners. The discussion explored a long-term vision for digital talking therapies, emphasising scalable, personalised, and continuous models of care that extend beyond traditional service delivery.

The workshop also featured a series of breakout sessions, offering a more practical, hands-on perspective. These sessions showcased key PCMIS tools such as Tasking – designed to streamline workflow management and enhance team coordination – and the Supervision Hub, which supports clinical oversight, governance, and structured supervision. Together, these demonstrations highlighted how PCMIS enables services to maintain quality and use resources effectively – while responding to increasing demand.

Throughout the event, PCMIS’s role in supporting a wide range of services was reinforced. PCMIS underpins NHS Talking Therapies services, children and young people’s mental health services, student wellbeing. and employment support programmes. Through capabilities such as case management, digital care pathways, patient engagement tools, and Outcome Feedback, PCMIS helps services improve access, efficiency, and the delivery of evidence-based care.

Overall, the workshop emphasised collaboration, innovation, and real-world application, demonstrating how PCMIS continues to evolve as a central digital infrastructure for integrated, patient-centred mental health services across the NHS. The event also marked the start of an important milestone year for PCMIS, as the organisation celebrates its 20th anniversary, an achievement that will be recognised  across the summer.
