PCMIS Health Technologies contracted to support SilverCloud® by Amwell® delivery of National Digital Mental Health Program for Ireland

PCMIS and Amwell have a history of collaboration and integration, having been the first to offer a “Digital First” referral and treatment pathway for NHS England Talking Therapies services in 2019. This is the first time the companies have worked together on a national health programme and as such, marks a new phase in their integrated approach to deliver tech solutions that drive service efficiencies and improve treatment outcomes.

Addressing a Growing Need

In November 2022, the HSE announced  SilverCloud. The partnership was designed to address the growing need for access to mental health support in Ireland.

Through the partnership, clinicians in Ireland can refer patients to SilverCloud’s evidence-based guided digital CBT programmes.

• Active use of the digital mental health platform in Ireland has increased 85% in ten months.
• Nearly half of users (49%) with clinical levels of depression have shown clinically meaningful improvement.
• 59% of users with clinical levels of anxiety have shown clinically meaningful improvement.
• The average time users spend on the platform has also increased by almost 10% in this period.

The service has now seen over 12,300 referrals from Ireland-based GPs, Primary Care Psychologists, Counselling in Primary Care and Jigsaw as they identify the SilverCloud platform as a potential solution to support their patients. The platform continues to see a 94% user satisfaction rate.

PCMIS and SilverCloud began working together in May 2023, aiming for the integration and case management capabilities to be in place to support the HSE programme in November 2023.
